Experienced and capable
By Joe Skinner, Gallatin County commissioner Belgrade
Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Sunday, Oct. 26, 2006
Marty Lambert is a very experienced and capable county attorney. A county attorney needs to do much more than prosecute cases. With limited resources available he needs to be able to prioritize the importance and merit of each case and direct his staff to prosecute crime as efficiently and economically as possible with those resources. Because Marty has a lot of experience in this office, he is performing this job very well.

Marty also advises the Commission on a daily basis on issues from land use to personnel, from contracts to public notice and open government. Again, because Marty has spent many years dealing with these diverse issues, he has gained a lot of expertise in each area.

The Gallatin County attorney is also responsible for managing a large staff to advise the Commission and perform the prosecution duties of his office. Over the last several years Marty has hired and retained many very capable attorneys that work under his oversight to address the legal responsibilities of Gallatin County.

My vote will be for Marty Lambert for county attorney.

I heartily endorse Marty Lambert, candidate for Gallatin County attorney.

Marty is a highly skilled, objective, and experienced attorney. His courtroom demeanor is professional and fair.

He was educated in Montana and has served in the county attorney’s office for many years.

I have found Marty Lambert to be caring, willing to listen, supportive, and willing to go the extra mile for others and me.

As a native Gallatin County resident, a homeowner, and a retired employee of Holcim Inc., I am proud to support Marty Lambert in his reelection bid.

Re-election of Lambert most important priority
By Jeff Krauss, Bozeman City Mayor
Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006
Lots of big election issues this year: senator, Legislature, city charter, 911 levy. They’re all important, all worth a letter. But endorsing Marty Lambert for county attorney gets my one letter, and it’s not even a close call.

In my experience, nothing in government is more important than public safety and the criminal justice system. Embezzlement, meth, armed robbery, rape, murder, those are tough words to read about in our county, in our town. We’ve got hard crime, and we need a hard line prosecutor. We need Marty Lambert’s toughness, his experience, his judgment.

Marty Lambert spoke up and supported a jail, because putting criminals in jail is part of the job. He didn’t check to see which way the political wind was blowing.Marty stood with city police and the county sheriff and the detention officers and he stood with the judges and he stood with the entire criminal justice system. That’s what we need in a county attorney.

There’s a lot more to the job, administration, and land use planning and civil law, and working with other counties and with the state. I’ve worked with him across two decades, and not always on the same side. I know his flaws, and I know his strengths, just like I know his family, just like I know his work. Just like I know we need Marty Lambert where he’s been this last decade, representing us as Gallatin County attorney.

Lambert is compassionate, but has needed legal expertise
By Jan Brownell and Kathy Coles Bozeman
Bozeman Daily Chronicle, October 17, 2006
We encourage you to vote for Marty Lambert and allow him to continue his commitment to the citizens of Gallatin County by serving as Gallatin County attorney for another term. As advocates for victims of violent crime, we see the devastation as well as the frustration that victims face when they are cast into the criminal justice system. Victims deserve to have a county attorney who cannot only be compassionate toward their circumstances, but one who also has the legal expertise and the proven ability to successfully prosecute criminal cases. Marty Lambert has continually demonstrated his dedication to victims’ rights while respecting and upholding the rights of the accused. Marty makes the time to be available for victims to explain complicated legal issues, to listen to victims’ concerns and to encourage victims to be active participants in the legal process. Marty treats victims with the respect and dignity that is uncommon in many jurisdictions. In addition to his personal dedication, Marty has assembled a reliable and diligent team of professionals and support staff who share in his commitment to Gallatin County. We hope you will cast your vote to reelect Marty Lambert, Gallatin County attorney.
